I built an app because my doctor said I was thirsty

ZingSpring hydration tracker app

My doctor told me I was dehydrated.

Not just "drink more water." It was actually affecting my health.

I thought I was fine. I was not.

I have an Owala. I live in Las Vegas. I figured I had it handled. I did not have it handled.

So I started tracking my water intake. But I kept falling off. No accountability. No stakes.

So I thought: what if I could compete with my friends?

Not just track water. Keep score. See who was actually staying hydrated. Make it a game across different cities.

This one was more involved than the Apple Music tool. Real accounts. A leaderboard. Multiple people. I had to figure things out I hadn't figured out before.

It started as a web app. Now it's on TestFlight.

My friends and I track each other's progress. It gets competitive.

It's not a startup. It's just something I built because I needed it.

Each one of these gets a little more ambitious. I'm not sure where that ends.
